Michelle E. Steinke-Baumgard, Co-Founder

Hi everyone! My name is Michelle Steinke-Baumgard and I am the Co-Founder of the Live The List Nonprofit. After losing my husband in 2009, I became engrossed in fitness not only as a lifestyle but as a profession. After losing 80 pounds I decided that my love of fitness was more than just a pastime. I wanted to spend the rest of my life empowering those with loss to live their life to the fullest with the help of health and fitness. I also wanted to share my passion with those who have experienced extreme grief and trauma so I became a certified personal trainer and left my VP position with my corporate job. I started my fitness career as a trainer at the gym that gave me weight loss success and then eventually left to start 1fw Training, LLC and the One Fit Widow Nonprofit. My dream is to help as many people as possible find stress relief and renewal of life through health and fitness.

Keith G. Baumgard, Co-Founder

Hi, my name is Keith Baumgard and fitness has been a life-long love of mine, starting from a very young age. My degree is in Exercise Science and Sport Medicine. I enjoy studying the muscular system of the body and developing unique and effective programs. I started my career as a personal trainer right after college and have continued to work with clients still today. Like so many others, fitness saved me during some extremely dark days of my life.  After the loss of my best friend, Brandon, in 2005, from a small plane crash, I found myself utilizing the powerful endorphins in trail running to work through my grief and find strength for the days ahead.  Similarly, being a part of 1fw Training and being Michelle’s “Chapter Two” has given me a deeper admiration for widows, widowers and their children. With this admiration has come a desire to help our widowed members live life well after loss.

Justin Carlson, Board Member & Director

Justin began his career as a manager in the retail banking division at Wells Fargo. He currently works for Asset Preservation Tax & Retirement Services, a private investment and estate planning firm with 18 representatives and 3,000 clients across the state of Arizona. Justin has a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Sociology, graduating with Honors from Arizona State University. In May 2003, he completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the W.P. Carey School of Business also at Arizona State University.

Dr. Quentin Gessner, Board Member & Director

Dr. Gessner served in the United States Navy and was a Dean of Continuing Studies at the University of Nebraska. He also was a Director at the University of Michigan.  Dr. Gessner has a Bachelor of Science degree from West Chester State College and a Masters from The University of Michigan. He attained his Ph.D. from Michigan State University. Quentin, a lifelong athlete and advocate of exercise became a widower in 1995 when his late wife Sue passed from a rare form of blood cancer.



Nonprofit Team Members

Lisa Shaw-Marotto, Executive Director (Independent Consultant)

Lisa is Founder & President of Executive Perspective Consulting, LLC and brings over 24 years of business and marketing experience to Live The List Nonprofit. Prior to starting her consulting company, Lisa was Vice President of Marketing for Merck & Co. and was recognized as a “Rising Star” by the 2010 HealthCare Business Women’s Association. Lisa holds a Biomedical Science Degree from the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia.

Lisa lost her first husband, Stephen, in January 2010, and understands all too well the impact that loss can have on the mind, body and spirit of widows and widowers. As a result, she has a strong desire to make a difference for members of Live The List Nonprofit.

Jennifer Rosenblatt, Development Director

For the past 20 years Jennifer’s professional work has been devoted to fundraising for a wide-range of groups, mostly focused on improving the lives of families and youth. Organizations she has supported include March of Dimes, Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, JANJ, Figure Skating Harlem and the Montclair NJ Ambulance unit.
Inspired by the mission-driven work of nonprofit organizations Jennifer holds a Master’s in Public Administration from New York University. Individual and corporate giving, special events, and Foundation grants are just a few tools in Jennifer’s development repertoire.
Jennifer resides in northern New Jersey and enjoys being a minority in her own fraternity whose membership includes her husband, two tween/teenage sons and one furry son, Albert (named after the University of Florida mascot – Jennifer’s beloved undergraduate alma mater). She enjoys cooking, listening to books on Audible (since she has very little time to actually read), sports (mostly specating, but she is considering taking up Pickleball) and traveling.

Natasha Shaw, Associate Marketing and Operations Manager

Natasha joined the Live the List Nonprofit Team in September, 2016 as our Associate Marketing and Operations Manager. New to the marketing world, Natasha has grown along side our nonprofit from it’s early stages. Wearing many hats, Natasha helps out with different aspects of Live the List Nonprofit, from social media marketing, to managing the website and helping to organize our fundraising campaigns. She looks forward most to contacting Live the List Sponsorship recipients and congratulating them on the start of their dream to fulfill a bucket list wish.

Natasha is a devoted wife and mother that participates as an active volunteer member at her son’s school in her spare time. She also has a creative flare and contributes to the Magic Yarn Project, a nonprofit supporting children who are battling cancer by crocheting wigs inspired by fairy tale characters.
